My Podcast Obsession

If you know me at all, you know that my obsession with podcasts is real and I'd much rather workout while listening to a new podcast episode than music any day of the week (when I beat him to the bluetooth speaker connection, my poor husband sometimes finds himself working out to the middle of a true crime episode, no beginning or end in sight because I've already spent the morning listening to it... #sorrynotsorry !)
In any case, I'm sure I'm not the only podcast obsessed, arm chair detective here, so I figured I'd do a round up of all my favorite shows (don't worry, they're not all true crime) in case you need new ideas, because let's face it, you can never have enough podcast options in your library!
Current Favorites:

Wine & Crime - I'm pretty sure this is and always will be hands down my absolute favorite podcast! Three gals with killer Minnesotan accents (as I'm typing this I'm saying Minnesotan accents in the Minnesotan accent way lol) pick a new true crime topic each week, pair it with a fitting wine and proceed to cover it in a methodical fashion: background and psych, case 1 related to the topic, case 2 related to the topic. As routine as this set up sounds, these gals make me belly laugh every single week and their bonus content, "Gossip at the Corpse Cart," is just the absolute best!
Funny anecdote, when gyms were still open and masks a thing in the far distant future, I was at the gym one morning doing my Madeline Moves workout in the weights area, surrounded by a bunch of bros and it just so happened that the episode I was listening to was all about Foreskin Forensics! As interesting as that topic was, I couldn't help but be both embarrassed and amused at the whole situation and was just so thankful my gym mates had no idea what my ears were hearing.
Word of caution, these gals are very liberal feminists, who tend to side with the criminal rather than the cops and their episodes are 1.5-2 hours long, not that there's anything wrong with any of that, it might just not be for everyone. New episodes are released every Thursday!

Crime Junkie - This is another favorite true crime gem on my weekly podcast routine and features two lovely gals (Ashley and Brit) who discuss a different case each week. Episodes are generally under an hour long and each episodes really gives the listener a well rounded understanding of the case at hand, who the main players are, what known facts we have to work with and so much more. Some cases are left unsolved, but for the most part, justice is served, which I always appreciate.
New episodes are released every Monday, which is a great way to kick off the new week if you ask me!

Moms and Murder - These two ladies are based out of Florida and kick off each week with a different episode featuring a true crime case of choice. Before getting into the nitty gritty of the case, each show starts with a segment called "We Googled This City," which involves Melissa sharing some funny and little known facts about the location of the weeks case, always ending with a super corny joke :-) Generally their cases are definitely milder than most true crime podcasts I've listened to, which makes them an easy and entertaining option while doing just about anything if you ask me.
New episodes air every Monday, so doubling up on Crime Junkie and Moms & Murder is just about my favorite thing!

This is Joy & Claire - This show used to be called the "Girls Gone WOD" podcast, but after realizing that crossfit really wasn't their main focus anymore, these two ladies re-branded and quickly became one of my favorite non crime listening options. Joy is a licensed professional mental health manager with a therapy dog named JT and a pup in training named Cadet, while Claire is a busy mom of two adorable babes. These episodes cover all kinds of topics and truly feel like a girls coffee chat, as Joy and Claire discuss everything from nutrition to period crams, mental health, world politics, workouts and more. While I don't always agree with their opinions, their way of discussing polarizing topics in a respectful and non threatening way always has me looking forward to Thursday when their latest show airs.

PaleOMG Uncensored - This is Juli Bauer Roth's podcast and is always a total random collection of her thoughts, opinions, current struggles, latest faves and so much more. Her funny, no F's given attitude makes these hour long episodes a hoot to listen to and while most weeks are just a ramble of topics, I always seem to learn something new each week. If you need new TV show ideas, true crime podcast recommendations, super cute clothing options, skin care tips or workout ideas, Juli is your girl and this podcast touches on all of it, while keeping things light, real and most of all, honest.
Episodes are released on Saturday, although not necessarily on a weekly basis.

Park Predators - This is my newest true crime podcast that I am currently subscribed to and I have to say, I am rather impressed by the content and variety of cases covered. As the name suggests, this podcast covers true crime cases that happened in National Parks, so many of them are new to me, which really says something since I've listened to just about all true crime podcasts available and know my cases if you catch my drift ;-) New episodes come out every Tuesday and so far, so good!
While those are currently my absolute favorite podcasts, I've listened to quite a few over the past years, so here are a few more that I can't recommend enough if you've already checked out the ones listed above:
True Crime:
Down the Hill: The Delphi Murders
Lime Town - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Sword and Scale - If you've never listened to this one before, listen with caution as the cases covered are extremely gruesome and violent.
Cut Throat Inc.
Redhanded - I'm obsessed with the British accents of the narrators!
Today in True Crime
True Crime Obsessed
True Crime Garage
Someone Knows Something
Dr. Death
Atlanta Monster
A Killing on the Cape
Casefile
Up and Vanished
Ear Hustle - This one is so neat! It's a podcast produced by inmates at San Quentin Prison
Serial
Missing Maura Murray
Dirty John
Gladiator - Fascinating story of football player, Aaron Hernandez
Broken Hearts
Mystery a la Carte
To Live and Die in LA
S-Town
Health & Wellness:
The Dream - Suuuuper interesting! Season 1 is all about multilevel marketing companies and season 2 covers the scams of the wellness industry
Mind Pump - This is a rather bro-y podcast, but if you give it a chance I bet you could learn all kinds of things about health, fitness and nutrition from these guys
The Genuine Joy Podcast - Currently on a break, but this is run by Kelsey from Little Bits of Real Food and her husband and their positive outlook on life just puts a smile on my face!
Well if you doubted my love of true crime before, you certainly won't know ;-) I hope you found some new shows to check out and if there's one you're absolutely loving, please let me know! This girl can always fit one more episode on the weekly listening schedule!
